Jessica Mauboy and PC Locs unite for Yipirinya School

05.08.14 by PC Locs in Blog, Testimonials

Jessica Mauboy has made a visit to Yipirinya School in Alice Springs to distribute 40 Tablets and an iQ 30 Cart, which have been donated by Telstra, Samsung and PC Locs for the students.

Driven by Jess, who is passionate about improving the educational opportunities of the children at the school where she is an Ambassador, Telstra and Samsung kindly offered up the 40 tablets along with the donation of a charging and syncing cart from PC Locs.

Jess explained, “I am so thrilled that Telstra, Samsung and PC Locs have offered these tablets and accessories to the students of the Yipirinya School. These tools will go a long way in assisting with the education of all the students at the school. It is so important that they have the same opportunities and access to technology despite their remote location and continue following their dreams.”

Yipirinya’s Principal, Ken Langford-Smith said, “The part played by our Ambassador Jessica Mauboy in obtaining these donations demonstrates how much she really cares for our students. We are immensely grateful to her, and to Telstra, Samsung and PC Locs for their generosity.”

The tablets are a great addition to the School’s resources and will be complemented by an iQ 30 Cart and its new basket features which will allow the staff and students to sync, charge and manage the large number of tablets with ease.

Jessica Mauboy has a long association with Telstra, who are proud to join with Samsung to support this project to help ensure the disadvantaged Indigenous students at Yipirinya School can make the most of the opportunities the digital world offers, and to teach them how to remain safe while online.

Telstra and Samsung are giving 40 tablets to be presented by Jess Mauboy, along with a Cyber Safety demonstration by Telstra who cares about connecting all Australians with a brilliant future.

Telstra has rolled out the third in its trilogy of adverts in the ‘we want to be famous for it’ campaign featuring Jessica Mauboy. Telstra stated, “Jess is someone who we actually discovered on the Telstra Road to Discovery, we found Jessica and we’re huge fans and supporters of her.”

Jessica Mauboy and PC Locs unite for Yipirinya School. PC Locs generously offered up their products to be presented with the tablets. PC Locs’ Marketing Manager, Vlad Vasilciuc stated “our products are designed to make life easier. Whether it be an IT Manager, the School Teacher or a Student, we try to put ourselves in their shoes and incorporate features that make it easier for those using the product.”
