FAQ's
How long does syncing take?
Syncing times will vary and depend on two things. 1) The amount of content to be transferred or synced to the device, and 2) The number of devices connected to the iQ 16 Sync Charge Box.
Will my devices charge during synchronisation?
Yes, but at a slightly reduced rate. In order to start charging at full rate (2.1 amps), the data cable needs to be removed from the iQ 16 Sync Charge Box. Once the data cable is removed, syncing will stop, the charge light will emit when in charge mode and full rate charging will commence.
Does the iQ 16 Sync Charge Box work with new iPad devices?
Yes. The iQ 16 Sync Charge Box can be updated to work with the latest devices and software. The customer would need to supply their own cables or contact us to purchase Lightning to USB cables from PC Locs.
Can I sync and charge iPod Touch or iPhone devices with the iQ 16 Sync Charge Box?
Yes. The iQ 16 Sync Charge Box is compatible with all Apple iOS devices and also other compatible Tablet devices. Contact us for more information.
Can I sync and charge non-Apple Tablet devices?
It will sync and charge any Tablet device that supports USB syncing and charging functionality. Contact the device manufacturer to see if your device supports USB syncing and charging and if there is supporting software.
Can the iQ 16 Sync Charge Box be removed from the products that they are stored in? Eg: iQ 30 Cart, iQ 16 Cart, etc.
Yes. PC Locs products are designed to be modular.
Does the iQ 16 Sync Charge Box work with Apple Configurator?
Yes. It also works with iTunes.
Can I use a Windows Laptop to sync my iPad devices?
For iPad devices or any other iOS device, we recommend using a MacBook in order to recognise all the devices connected at once. If you are using a Windows Laptop, you may be limited to a certain number of devices. (Eg: there have been cases where Windows would only recognise up to seven devices at once).
Are you having problems syncing multiple devices with iTunes/Apple Configurator on your Macbook?
In June 2013, a range of Apple products incorporated the new 4th Generation Intel Core vPro Processors (Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7). The new 4th Generation Intel Core vPro Processor products limits the number of devices which can be connected via their USB ports. We've developed a software update to fix this. Simply download the USB Limit Fix app from the link below and follow the instructions.
My devices aren't being recognised?
For iOS 11.4.1 devices or later (you can check your iOS version in Settings > General > About and look down at which Version the device is running), to allow the device to be recognised by PC Locs unit you may need to do one of the following steps:
1. Do not enable a passcode on iOS devices
2. -OR- for iOS devices with passcodes, simply unlock the device prior to plugging in
3. -OR- update Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > scroll down to USB Accessories (toggle to “ON” so it is green)

USB Limit Fix app
Are you having problems syncing multiple devices with your cart or charging station? It's probably the version of Macbook you are using. But don't worry, we've got a fix. Install this application. Refer to the USB Limit Fix PDF for further instructions.
Please note: This fix is only needed for certain Apple Mac computers particularly the newer version that use the Intel Core i5 and i7 (also known by the code name “Haswell”), it does not apply to PCs. The application will permanently install the fix so that it is always enabled on every boot without the need to run the application (it can be uninstalled through the application). The PC Locs products is required and needs to be connected to the Mac to install this fix.
